Confronting Challenging of 21 Century Youth

Our youth are brilliant, talented, and ready to change the world. The National Youth Summit on Education, Justice, and Leadership is designed to help them do exactly that.  For a 7th year, the 2021 summit is once again prepared to bring together talented high school student leaders to work virtually with civil rights legends, leading educators, academics, international activists, and economists to examine the school to prison pipeline, immigration, the environment, gun violence, constructive innovative tools that focus on inherent strengths of all. That experience is being converted to a online experience open to students and educators worldwide. Participants will be challenged to pursue a resurgence of academic excellence, highly engaged educators, and exceptional expectations for themselves and those that serve them.

This year’s summit was scheduled to be held on the campus of Alabama State University. Located in the historic city of Montgomery, Alabama, a sight of the Civil War, home to Rosa Park’s historic stance, and the location of the ensuing bus boycott that ignited the 1960’s Civil Rights Movement, Montgomery offers a plethora of history to experience. We continue to be grateful for the enthusiastic welcome of Alabama State University President, Dr. Quinton T. Ross Jr. More information about Montgomery and ASU can be found online.
