Justice Paul Reiber

CHIEF JUSTICE PAUL REIBER

Paul L. Reiber was appointed to the Vermont Supreme Court as an Associate Justice in October 2003 and Chief Justice December 2004. In 2010 he served as Chair of the Vermont Commission on Judicial Operations resulting in historic legislation that unified the state court system. He now Co-Chairs the Chief Justice Task Force for Children, the Vermont Commission on Well-Being of the Legal Profession, and the Vermont Judicial Commission on Family Treatment Courts. He is the immediate past president of the Conference of Chief Justices, 2018-2019 Chairman of the Board of the National Center for State Courts, a member of the executive committee of the National Judicial Opioid Task Force and involved in several other efforts devoted to access to justice and the rule of law. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, the American Law Institute and active in his local chapter of the American Inns of Court.
