Wesley Bell

WESLEY BELL

Wesley Bell is a city councilmember for Ferguson, Missouri and was elected on August 7th, 2018 as the Democratic nominee for St. Louis County Prosecutor. When elected in November, Wesley will be the first African-American county prosecuting attorney in St. Louis County history. Wesley is an advocate for equal rights and opportunities within the criminal justice system and has built his platform on community-based policing, reforming cash bail and expanding diversion programs.

A native of St. Louis County, Wesley was raised by a police officer father and county civil servant mother. After graduating from Lindenwood University and the University of Missouri-Columbia law school, Wesley represented hundreds of disenfranchised clients as a Special Public Defender in St. Louis County. Throughout his career, Wesley has led his own criminal defense practice and served as a criminal justice professor and municipal court judge.
