DOUG PETTY, Ph.D.

Douglass Petty, Ph.D., has over thirty years’ experience as an organizational consultant, educator, community organizer, life coach, and motivational speaker. Dr. Petty is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Counseling Association, American Association of Christian Counselors, American Psychological Association, National Association of Multicultural Educators and National Diversity Council, The National Center for Crisis Management and The International Christian Coaching Association. He is the lead principal for Christian Counseling & Resource Consultants.

He serves on several boards, including member of the executive board, Alzheimer’s Association of Greater St. Louis, Chair of the African American Advisory Board, Washington University School of Medicine Memory and Aging Project. He is also a member of The Desegregation Monitoring Task Force. He has served as adjunct faculty at University Missouri-Kansas City, Harris –Stowe State University and St Louis Community College.
During his career, he has provided training in each school district in St Louis City and County. Petty is the author of two books that have not yet been released, The Autobiography of Fred Shuttlesworth, a civil rights icon and Petty Quotes On Leadership And Life. He is the founding pastor of Fresh Start Bible Church. He was ordained to public ministry in 1982. He currently is a member of several local clergy organizations including the Clergy Coalition. He is a part of the executive leadership team at St Louis Public Schools

Drama is either invited, imposed or maintained as a result of choices and can easily be removed. Trauma, on the other hand, needs to be clearly identified because it can be confused with drama, but it never goes away on its own. Let’s learn more.
