KARON BOLDEN

Koran Bolden is a national youth motivational speaker, entrepreneur, youth empowerment and outreach consultant who advocates for students to graduate from school by educating them to make healthy life choices.

Bolden is mostly known for his advocacy on social change and increasing graduation rates through mentoring, entrepreneurship, and creating more positive media messages for youth, which inspired him to leave corporate America to open a leadership-focused recording studio called Street Dreamz in 2010 with his wife LaPortcia. Street Dreamz Recording Studio and Party Center became a safe house and exciting alternative for young, aspiring musicians to build their self-esteem through writing positive lyrics, challenging and restricting kids from recording songs containing profanity. This strict “No Profanity” pledge soon gained attention from parents, schools boards, government officials, corporations, and local news media outlets, which did several feature stories on Bolden’s mission.

Koran’s vision for social change has been validated by him impacting over 30,000 students which inspired the creation of an award winning Dream Success curriculum that led him to being the recent recipient of the Verizon Wireless Everyday Hero Award, Cadillac City Shapers Salute, and being tapped by Walgreens as the spokesperson for their regional Walgreens expressions challenge. His most recent honor was being featured on the GAP Inc website for his impact on youth leadership and entrepreneurship in which he was later asked to deliver a keynote speech on stage for the Banana Republic Conference at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. After the County Executive’s office heard of Bolden’s GAP Inc story, they officially declared March 21, 2014 as Koran Bolden Day in Saint Louis county.
